I’m currently on a site to learn spanish, great tutorials but i’m having a hard time remembering the words and actually learning.

My biggest problem is pronouncing them, i don’t know how to pronounce them at all. Some words, when I hear them but most words don’t have sound to them so I pronounce with a numb tongue.
Whats the best way to learn this language (if I don’t have people to help me with it?)

Many Spanish courses are specially designed for English speakers, yet the majority English speakers are not good at languages, or at least they are reluctant to learn them!

Why is this the case? There are a couple of reasons. English has become an internationally spoken language and is the first foreign language that most non-native speakers learn. So it’s easy for native English speakers to get by in other countries, as they’ll always find someone who speaks English.

In fact, if you go abroad, you’ll find that foreign nationals are very keen to talk to you, as they want the chance to practice their English. This was certainly the case when I was in China.

And although the UK is much smaller, it’s an island and before the days of cheap airlines, only the wealthy traveled frequently. And of course Britain once had its own empire in which English was spoken.

However, with so many Spanish speakers in the US and easy access to all of Europe from the UK, the need to learn Spanish has increased in both the US and the UK.

But with so many people in the world speaking English, why should you bother to learn Spanish? In fact language courses at many British universities are closing because of lack of interest in learning a European language.

But is it wise to rely on the rest of the world’s ability to speak English? If you want to succeed in business, it’s pretty important to be able to understand the people you are working with and if you are doing business with Spanish speakers you could be at a serious disadvantage if you don’t speak their language. How will you be able to tell if everything you say is translated accurately and if you are getting 100% of the information you need in order to make decisions?

And even if your sole contact with Spanish is when you are on holiday, just think of how much more interesting your stay in Spain or Latin American would be if you could join in conversations with locals and learn about their culture through the language?

Following a course in Spanish for English speakers will show you how easy learning a language can be, as there are many words which are almost the same in both languages. Also, word order is similar which makes understanding sentences a great deal easier.

Modern language courses make use of resources which appeal to all learning styles and so if you have struggled to learn Spanish in the past, using an online audio course which includes visual material will make things much simpler.
