If you are going to Spain, they will appreciate, and treat you much better if you know a few phrases!
try Livemocha.com. If you have a little time, you can be at a decent level by the time you get there.
Byki.com has flashcards (online) for free that are all travel phrases.
And there are about a gazillion sites where you can learn Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese or Mandarin Chinese for free. I have a bunch of links if you want more than you get from those two. Just email me.
